Connected school operations

Built for what school can be.

Bursario is one platform on which a private or independent K–12 school, or a diocese of schools, runs admissions and enrollment, the student record, family communication, the school day, tuition and financial aid. One record of each student and family, and one sign-in for the staff and the families who share it.

One platform

From the first inquiry to the last day of school.

Most schools run on a dozen systems that do not know about each other. Bursario keeps the family that inquired, the student who enrolled, the tuition contract they signed and the car they are picked up in as one connected record.

Admissions to enrollment

Inquiry forms, applications, checklists and reviews with rubrics, decisions and letters, enrollment contracts, re-enrollment campaigns and withdrawals. Families apply and sign from the family app; the office sees every stage on one board.

The student and the school day

Families, students and custody, academics with gradebooks and schedules, attendance, the nurse office, lunch, behaviour, dismissal with carline, buses and visitors, extended day, and messaging between the school and each family.

Tuition, aid and payments

Fee schedules and a ledger per family, payment plans, cards and bank payments, financial aid applications and awards, 529 plan payments and general-ledger export. Families pay and track balances in the same app they use every day.

Modules

Every office, one workspace.

Staff see the modules their roles allow, nothing more. Each module is built on the same people, tenancy and permissions, so nothing is re-keyed between them.

    Office staff

For families, one place for the whole school year.

Families sign in once, on the web or on their phone, and see every child at every school they attend. Guardians, grandparents and carpool drivers each see what they are allowed to, and nothing else.

Ask about the family app
  • Today: who is where, and what the school needs from you
  • Pick-up authorisations, carline and carpools
  • Messages with teachers and the office; class hubs
  • Tuition balances, payment methods and payment plans
  • Financial aid applications and awards
  • Grades, schedules and attendance
  • Health records and the nurse's notes
  • Lunch accounts and extended day
  • Applications and re-enrollment, signed in the app
  • Events and sign-ups
  • The family circle: who belongs, custody and the directory
  • English or Spanish, chosen by each person

Dioceses and networks

Each school its own. The diocese sees across them.

A diocese or a network of schools is a tenant of its own, with its own staff and roles. Each school keeps its data and its decisions; the diocese gets compliance across its schools and roll-up reporting without a single spreadsheet.

  • Compliance across every school: who is current, who is expiring, where the gaps are.
  • Roll-up reports across schools, built from the same records the schools work in.
  • Superintendents and diocesan staff with their own roles, separate from each school's.
  • Schools added to a diocese keep their own branding in the family app.

Foundations

Built the way school software should be.

Roles, not logins

Every screen and every action is tied to a role in a school or diocese. A teacher, a nurse, a business manager and a parent see different Bursarios.

One tenant per school

A school's records are its own, enforced in the database, not only in the interface. A diocese reads across its schools without merging them.

Accessible by design

Keyboard navigation, visible focus, screen-reader names and WCAG AA contrast on every screen, including the dense ones.

Your school's name on it

A school's logo and colours appear in the family app and on its public admissions pages, over Bursario's own foundation.

Imports and exports

Spreadsheet imports with a review step, rostering to class sections, general-ledger export, webhooks and directory sync.

Open to inspection

A documented API behind every screen, with the same permissions the screens have. Nothing happens in the interface that an administrator cannot audit.
